Saturday, July 9, 2016 1-3pm @ Design Concepts
Women in Industrial Design is hosting a workshop to help designers find a manufacturer in China. Friend and fellow designer Ti Chang of CRAVE will be leading the event on July 9th from 1pm to 3pm. The location is yet to be decided, but watch here or on Women in Industrial Design’s Meetup page for updates. Be sure to RSVP on their event page to attend.
Here’s a brief description of the event from Ti:
“Since starting my own company, I have personally sourced many of my suppliers from the vast ocean that is Alibaba. The process can be daunting but absolutely doable! This workshop is for those who want to get their ideas to production but don’t know where to start. I believe being able to find factories, vet factories, understand whether it is a right match for your products- is extremely powerful in becoming a more independent designer as well as becoming more fluent in the global manufacturing community.”
This is an informal session designed to give you an introductory look at manufacturing in China. Please come with questions!
Check out the event page for more details. We hope to see you there!
